  • On the phone with Andrew while in the Marina waiting for our two briefings. We get a technical briefing that explains the workings of the yacht systems, a chart briefing where they warn us of hazards and help with planning an itinerary

  • Danny and Huxley keep watch as we start towards cocos. It was where the wind was coming from so we had to tack many times.

  • We made quick work of snagging the mooring ball at Cocos. There were a few other yachts also moored with threatening rain clouds on the horizon. It was incredibly beautiful.

  • Making the plan to get to the beach. Some people opted to swim and others took the stand up paddleboard. It was further than it seems but still with snorkels there are lots of fish to look at.

  • Danny tries on the full face snorkels they had brought with them. DYC only had four sets which was bothersome. They had promised more but we forgot to pick them up. It turned out that the full face masks leaked snd didnt work out so well.

  • Petite Anse beach. The north winds made this very sheltered but we had to rely on our anchor. The chart briefer had warned us to not take the dinghy to the beach and we saw a family try to land on the beach only to flip it at the last minute. Mostly egos were hurt!

  • No people at the beach just some wandering cows on La Digue. you can see the surf close to the beach has a lot of force and can easily overturn a dinghy if not managed properly.

  • Our neighbours boat on La Digue Island by Petite Anse Beach. We would see them at a number of our later anchorages. This was an incrediblybeautifull beach and we liked it more than some of the other higher rated ones that had tourists.
