June Training Camp

June saw the team shifting into a higher gear. Rates were now up at the targets. Splits were close to time standards, and the athletes had started to shed a lot of the fat from their bodies. The heat was oppressive and we had to start at 5:30 every morning to be finished before it got unbearable. Every now and then there would be a torrential monsoon downpour, but not enough to raise the level of the lake. The old timers said, this was the lowest they had seen Rawal Lake in 25 years. Linda also started coaching the enthisiastic Junior Women's double of Kiran and Sama. She had three novice women as well, and the mixture forced her to two practices. It was still tough on her, but having a launch driver and Aslam Hayat around really helped her.
