1. Rowing
  2. Pakistan Rowing Team

July Training Camp

July saw the team finally starting to gel. I had decided on all the lineups. Even though some were not moving as fast as I wanted to see, the core crews were doing well. The ltwt 4-, the ltwt 2x, the ltwt 1x were hitting their marks and were finally getting comfortable at the higher rates. Zaheer and I spent quite a while to get the rigging adjusted to what I wanted. The heavyweights finally started taking their right place. In between all this we also did the trek to Nanga Parbat. Not only is the team physiologically ready, but it is mentally tough. Linda spent the month with the women's team. This included Kiran and Sama, the junior girls from Karachi Boat Club who were great fun to be around. There were also four women that were learning to row for the first time, and came from Lahore and Islamabad.
