Winter Break 2008

Jeff got to spend a little over a week at home for Winter break before he left to coach MIT for Winter break in Florida. The weather was mostly foggy. Key acitivites: hang out with Amber and Shelly, get Anisa's ears pierced, go for a hike to get ourselves ready for K2 (hah), and of course riding.

  • Anisa stands on her pony. Her instructor wants her to be comfortable enough riding bareback that she can do these kinds of stunts with ease...or a backup skill in case she joins a circus. I love it. (It was also very cold so riding bareback keeps you warm)

  • We decided to get into shape for trekking by going to the closes trail we could fine. We went to the Wissahickon Gorge. It was cool how it was so secluded even though the city is half a mile away in either direction.

  • Experimenting with exposure. Tried slow shutter speed to blur the waterfall..but the tricky thing was to keep Anisa's face sharp. I am afraid my I was not steady enough on my monopod.
